This is special because...
Glass blowing has long been a cherished art form in Mexico. The very first glass pieces - or Vidrio Soplado - produced in North America were created in Puebla, Mexico around 1535 by Spanish artisans. Each piece of Mexican handblown glassware is a unique creation, no two exactly alike. Artisans shape objects using centuries-old glass blowing techniques which create small pockets of air bubbles in the forms, giving the vessels their well known name, Bubble Glass.
