Need to mash up a big batch of guac? This hefty molcajete, or traditional Mexican mortar and pestle, can tackle the job. And when it's not being used for prep or serving, it looks mighty nice on display. The simple form alludes to the cultural artifact through a modern aesthetic and use of materials.
While traditional molcajetes are typically carved from stone or volcanic rock, this version is hand cast from resin imbedded with marble chips to create a stone terrazzo effect that is both beautiful, durable and lightweight.
