This is special because...
Artem was founded by Boston-based architect turned jeweler Sadhna Gupta Brown in 2018. Sadhna's unique, architectural designs are all handcrafted, some in her Brookline studio and others in Kolkata, India, by young women in the jewelry workshop and training program of Her Future Coalition.
Her Future Coalition creates powerful change in the lives of Indian and Nepali survivors of gender violence and girls at the highest risk by providing education, vocational training, safe shelter and supportive community.
The nonprofit organization's jewelry program gives women the opportunity to learn a profession and support themselves independently. Her Future jewelers are breaking gender barriers, becoming some of South Asia’s first women goldsmiths, and earning wages comparable to a college graduate.
