This is special because...
This brass beauty was created using the Cire Perdue casting method, a process that consists of making a wax model, coating it with clay to form a mold, heating until the wax melts and runs out of small holes left in the mold, and then finally pouring molten brass metal into the the cavity. Once the brass cools and solidifies, the clay is removed revealing a design ready to be cleaned and polished. Each piece must be made with care for detail in this relatively long process, which can take up to a few weeks, especially during monsoon season, when curing times are hampered by extreme humidity.
