The luxurious Kaba Handwoven Silk Scarf is made of a combination of Eri and Mulberry silk. They are individually pot dyed using natural dyes, many found in the plants and soils of Ethiopia. The dusty pink is made with cochineal, the gold with the national flower of Ethiopia, Meskal flower and the midnight blue with indigo.

This scarf takes its name from Kaba, one of finishers that helps produce the beautiful goods in our Ethiopian Textile Collection. As a finisher, she helps to ensure all the products are properly washed, ironed and market ready.
As members of the World Fair Trade Organization, the predominantly women-led weaving and sewing collective supports and trains their artisans to apply their ancient skills to modern, fresh designs. Serving as a bridge between the artisan and the global market, they provide safe, reliable income for women and their families.
