Sourcing the same marble used to construct the Taj Mahal, we designed this simple, substantial incense holder with a dugout sized to hold cone-style incense and keep ash and cinders at bay. When not holding aromatics, its weight is well-suited for keeping papers in place. It is impossible to fathom how much stone the Taj required, but now you can have a small piece in your palace, too!
- 2" tall x 2" diameter
- Solid marble
- Handmade in Udaipur, India
This is special because...
This gleaming white stone is called Makrana Marble, named for the city in Rajasthan from which it is mined. Rajasthan remains one of the world’s leading producers of marble, and driving through the mountainous countryside, one passes through miles and miles of massive slabs as far as the eye can see. It is truly stunning. Our line of Makrana Marble incense burners, candlesticks and menorahs are hand-carved in Udaipur, by master marble artisans who have been honing their craft for generations.
