Handcrafted from matte porcelain using a slip-casting technique and hand-painted with a glossy glaze in the Tel Aviv ceramics studio of artist Maiyan Ben Yona, this ceramic mezuzah case* iterates on an ancient religious relic, bringing to it a modern design and spirit.

Product Specifications:

  • 4.75" long x 1" wide x .75" high
  • Porcelain
  • Handmade in Tel Aviv, Israel
  • Mounted with heavy-duty double sided mounting tape
  • Includes a klaf (prayer scroll), certified kosher by Soferim (scribes) and written on special parchment, with special ink and quills.

This is special because...

In Judaism, a mezuzah (Hebrew: מְזוּזָה‎ "doorpost") is a piece of parchment called a klaf contained in a decorative case and inscribed with specific Hebrew verses from the Torah (Deuteronomy 6:4–9 and 11:13–21). The mezuzah is the first artifact that any guest will encounter, as it’s literally the gate to the Jewish home.
