Margot Guralnick is a New York and Boston botanical artist who, since 2014, has been making daily assemblages from the leaves and twigs she gathers on walks, initially accompanied by her late, great rescue dog, Enrique. Her creations are ephemeral, assembled on found backdrops and memorialized in photographs before being cast to the wind.
Margot describes her collages as “a daily meditation on—and a collaboration with—urban plant life, so crucial to our well-being but so often completely unnoticed." Her work is available as archival pigment prints on cotton rag in limited editions of 10, and has been featured in solo shows in Cambridge (at Abroad Modern!), NYC, and LA.

More from the artist:
"My work is a daily meditation on — and a collaboration with — the plant life growing in my neighborhood in the Bronx and wherever my travels take me. What began as a collector’s impulse to gather finds on walks with my late dog, Enrique, has led to an unexpected daily practice: an attempt to decipher nature’s hieroglyphics and to create order and pattern out of my discoveries."
